Description
After observing a blackbird defecating on the bird food in the birdhouse, I decided, for hygienic reasons, to design a feeding station and place it inside the birdhouse. The result of my design has a diameter of 160mm and a height of 110mm. It can, of course, be scaled as desired to fit smaller birdhouses as well.
The feeding station consists of a food bowl with a central, cylindrical storage container sealed by a lid. Through four arched openings, the food slides from the cylinder into the food bowl. Inside the cylinder, a slight, pointed conical elevation ensures that the food can slide down until it's all gone. I printed the station from transparent PLA so that I can monitor the fill level of the cylinder from a distance.
