Description

Dyson no longer sells the bin seal which perishes over time which renders the vacuum mostly useless.

This is a replacement printed in TPU which uses a different design to make it 3d print friendly. Works well and should be easily printable with the included profile & dry TPU on any printer. I use the textured PEI plate, either with glue stick or dripping some isopropyl on it to unstick it.

It can definitely be improved on - this is a quick initial model to get it going again.

I've personally tested Overture TPU (stiff but workable) and Flashforge Flexible PLA (Basically TPU, prints the same or better). The softer the TPU the better.

This should also work for many other models with similar size bins & internals (95mm inner cyclone, 100mm bin):

  • DC30 (same original part)
  • DC31 (same original part)
  • DC34 (same original part)
  • DC35 (same original part)
  • DC44 (tested, working)
  • DC45 (tested, working)
  • Possibly DC56-DC62, haven't seen one to check
