Description

Boost Me (for free)

If you enjoy my designs, you can support my work with a boost!

A slim and practical SD card case designed to keep your memory cards organized and protected — each slot fits both standard and micro SD cards.

The normal version has 4 slots on each side - you can put the inserts into the bottom and lid at the same time, so the case fits up to 12 SD and Micro SD cards. You can even use one slot for SD and Micro SD at the same time if you like. The case features a snap latch. For assembly you will need 4 M3x16 or longer screws. You can also use the M3x30 as used by many other cases.

The top and bottom feature line patterns and an SD card icon — you can also print it without them, with only the lines, or with just the icon.

There is also a smaller version which has 4 slots on each side, otherwise the features are the same.

Material

This design works well with PLA. For long time usage, I recommend printing the inserts from PETG, since the PLA clamps could lose their stiffness over time.

Printing

No special settings are required for printing, except a small support for the bottom.

Assembly

You only need 4 M3x16 or longer (up to 30mm) screws for assembly. The inserts snap into the bottom or lid for a secure fit. You can choose if you want to put an additional set of inserts into the lid.

In the beginning, the inserts and latch can be a little stiff, because of sharp corners which flatten out when using the case a bit. Some filament strands from the overhang on the bottom side may come loose, but they can easily be removed and don’t affect functionality.

For anyone experiencing issues with the latch, two alternative versions are available: one with a tighter snap-fit and one that opens more easily.
