Description

Car Vent Phone Mount - Adjustable and Secure

This phone mount combines the best aspects of two excellent existing designs, adapted to provide stability when attaching to an air conditioning vent and flexibility for different phone sizes - all without needing additional purchases. I loved the originals but wanted something that could handle a heavy phone without spending extra on a MagSafe charger. This version solves that problem.

Features & Benefits:

  • Versatile phone fit: Can hold phones horizontally or vertically with a simple adjustment.
  • Secure hold: Please note, my phone in a case is 75mm wide (iPhone 13 Pro), nearly the maximum size for this mount. This mount is not suitable for larger phones.
  • Simple assembly: Some gluing required, but straightforward to put together.
  • Strong & durable: Printed in PETG for rigidity and longevity. Consider if this is appropriate for your local conditions.
  • Supports recommended: Ensures clean, functional prints.

A practical, adaptable, and sturdy solution for keeping your phone in place while driving - no extra chargers or complicated setups needed.

If your printer tolerances are off and you are having difficulty with the print in place part, please right click the object → split → to objects. This will separate the objects to be printed separately.

I really like the print quality and the overall result looks great. However, I’m having a problem during assembly and I’m not sure if I’m overlooking something simple. In my opinion, a specific part seems to be missing, as it is not included in the print profile. Please see the attached image for reference. The rod does not stay in the round head because it keeps sliding out and is not anchored in place. In the image from your post, it looks like there might be an additional threaded insert or internal thread that helps secure the rod, but I don’t seem to have that on my print. Could you please let me know if there is an extra part required, or if there is something I should do differently during assembly?Thank you very much for your help

Hey, that part is designed to be glued in place. I use loctite gel and haven’t had any concerns with it breaking. In the past I’ve also used loctite 454 for an extremely good hold, but it can whiten some parts. If you give me some time to make it through my run of night shifts, I’ll reprint and take photos during assembly to upload if you still need some help. I probably should have done this initially anyway.

I’ve sent you a message, I’ll send you a rough video of how I assembled it.

Why are parts of the holder not available individually if something breaks

Which parts do you need? You should be able to print only the parts you need.

unfortunately several of the pieces of this print broke off when I was trying to put it together. it is quite fragile. he threading heart broke first. also this design is quite small for an average size cell phone. I should have sized it up.

Sorry to hear, do you have any pictures of what broke so that I can maybe make adjustments?

You should be able to right click the object - split - to objects and drag to separate the parts if using bambu studio. But I've uploaded a new profile with them separated if you are unable to.

it has a problem and a possible solution cleaning that sticks to the thread where the stick that adjusts in the A/C goes, THAT IS to say the ball head, it should have a square hole in its base so that the hook's stick fits in. there are smaller cars and it is also a fitting piece. even making the stick longer and fitting it there would give firmness without depending only on glue

The AC attachment doesn’t work well on a Tacoma (1/5). the phone clamp is 4/5.
