Bill of Materials

Description

Modular CyberKART Battle Arena! based off of Nintendo 64 Mario Kart Battle mode. You start with one needle and one water balloon filled with air - the goal is to pop your opponent's balloon! Make the map clear and open, or full of obstacles; Rainbow road floor tiles, or basic gray.

No AMS required!

A1 Mini version available for most parts.

Create your custom arena your way with many options including potholes, barriers, bananas, a drive under spinning wheel, a ramp, and a difficult terrain with a “?” block in the middle that gifts a free spin.

Themed boxes optional for storage when it's time to put the arena away.

*Please let me know if anything is unclear or any issues you may come across!

For the current shown set up size:

  • 60 x Small squares
  • 8 x Corner tiles
  • 16 x Edge tiles
  • 12 x Special tiles or blank tiles
  • 124 x Connector pieces
  • Two large boxes and one medium

Spinner Gears Assembly:

  •  TIP: I took some fine grit sandpaper to the pins for a smoother spin.
  • The pins can be a little difficult to fit through the gears, this is intentional, TWISTING them in helps!
  • Gears should fit loosely and move freely through the base and tight through the gear.
  • I did not find the need for any lubricant.
  • Small rectangles get glued on the bottom of the spinner legs and inset into the floor tile.
  • Lower pins must be inserted BEFORE the spinning wheel and top gear.
  • Please look at the orientation of the gears and parts here (Smallest gear on top, largest gear on bottom):

My Cyberbrick Kart is still a work in progress to clean it up a bit. I challenge designers to create more character karts and new kart designs!

 - My Yoshi kart is available here: **to be added soon** - under review at the moment.

TIPS for the ARENA:

I use these self-filling water balloons and blow them up with air - just cut the straw mid-way down and blow it up! These are usually available locally or on Amazon:  Amazon.com: ZURU Self Sealing Water Balloons 100 pcs Assorted Colors : Toys & Games

For the needles, I use 10x3 magnets to attach them, details will be in the listing with the KART.

The spinning wheel states 10 seconds for some items such as freeze and close eyes, if this feels too long, feel free to verbally make is 5 seconds instead!

I've glued the small squares into the arena barriers (see photo) so that they hold more firm against the KARTs, however they are NOT glued to the floor tiles - This way the arena can easily be disassembled and stored.

The connecting parts should fit snugly in the floor tiles. I've found that placing them on the floor tiles before placing them down makes them very easy to place and connect (See photo)

The tile with the bumps on it and the “?” square in the middle is meant to be glued on an existing floor tile. I have placed mine on the top of my ramp, but it can be glued on any plain tile - make 2 or 3!

There is a magnet on the bottom of my KART and a slot for a small magnet on the “?” square so that when you drive over it, you collect the magnet and can redeem it for a free spin. Once redeemed, you place the small magnet back on the “?” square.
