Description

Here we have what you would call a Mini multi use vice I guess, you can use the vice as it is or fit the jaw adapters which are reversible for different components or add the pins which can grip circular objects.

The hardware I have used purely because I had them to hand and they are the 5mm low profile Allen head bolts, I purchased an assortment of these bolts from Ooznest UK ages ago But Openbuilds are the main supplier I believe, standard Allen head bolts should be ok to use as well but I don't have any to try, I used a 5mm grub screw to sold the screw thread adapter in place, but an Allen head bolt would work too.

There are 4No slotted holes so it can be secured to a board or bench top or just use it as a hand vice.

Another great design project.

Thanks for looking.

The grub screw doesn't hold well for me. The part would need to be constructed a bit stronger in this area

Hi, yeah I have uploaded newer vises that don't use any hardware, I haven't got round to the multi use vise yet but its on the list.

The screw should be oriented flat to prevent it from breaking. Personally, it broke when removed from the build plate. There is also no guide for the clamp, so nothing prevents it from lifting when tightened. Furthermore, the connection system between the screw and the clamp is not very practical. A hole on the opposite side would allow a screwdriver to pass through

Sorry to hear that, not sure why that’s happened, there have been many downloads and no issues.

Great little vise. Printed well with some Creality Hyper PLA. Perfect size for working on Raspberry Pi's and other smaller boards

Jaw rotates/flexes when clamping, only useful for very light clamping

Hi, this particular vice is one of the first I designed and printed, future models have a channel on each leg for the sliding jaw to run along to stop the flexing. Thanks for downloading the vice.

Pretty good print quality. Only issue is that the screw got a little messed up, but it still works.

Yeah I here you, with 3D printed threads you can off set them as much as you like but the Bambu slicer software has to have a seam, and which ever option you opt for, there is no good one, a seams a seam.
