Do you have VELUX roof windows or blinds/mosquito nets out of reach and use a VELUX ZCT 200K telescopic rod? This reinforced adapter is the perfect solution!

The original VELUX ZOZ 085 adapter is known for breaking with intensive use. Inspired by this problem, I created my own improved version, which is thicker and wider in key areas to provide significantly greater strength and durability.

This adapter is designed for seamless compatibility with the VELUX ZCT 200K rod and allows for convenient opening and closing of:

  • VELUX Roof Windows: Perfectly fits manually operated VELUX roof windows, particularly GGL and GGU models (with top opening). The adapter (together with the rod) allows for easy hooking onto the window's ventilation bar, facilitating its opening and closing.
  • VELUX Blinds and Mosquito Nets: It also serves to operate manual VELUX interior blinds (e.g., DKL, RFL, FHL, FPL, FHC, PAL) and mosquito nets (ZIL). This ZOZ 085 adapter is precisely the element that facilitates hooking the rod onto the operating bar of the blind or mosquito net, enabling their convenient control.

 

Key Features:

 

  • Universal Application: Compatible with both manually operated VELUX windows (GGL, GGU) and a wide range of VELUX blinds and mosquito nets for which the original ZOZ 085 adapter is dedicated.
  • Reinforced Construction: Thicker and wider walls compared to the original adapter, significantly increasing its resistance to stress and breakage.
  • Durability: Designed to last longer than the standard adapter, even with frequent use.
  • Easy Installation: Fits perfectly onto the VELUX ZCT 200K telescopic rod.
  • 3D Print Optimized: The design takes into account 3D printing specifics, ensuring ease and effectiveness of printing.

 

Recommended 3D Print Settings:

 

  • Material: It is recommended to print with materials that have high mechanical strength and good temperature resistance, such as:
    • PETG (recommended): Excellent compromise between strength, flexibility, and ease of printing.
    • ABS: Very strong, but requires printing in a well-ventilated area and with a heated bed.
    • ASA: Similar to ABS but with better UV resistance, ideal if the adapter will be exposed to sunlight.
  • Layer Height: 0.2 mm for a good balance between quality and print time.
  • Infill: Minimum 35-60% (e.g., Grid, Rectilinear, or Gyroid pattern) for maximum strength. More infill is better, but increases print time and material consumption.
  • Perimeters/Walls: Minimum 4-6 walls to increase the solidity of the part.
  • Supports: Necessary! Use supports under overhanging elements. Please do not modify the default support generation settings unless you know what you are doing. The current settings have been tested and ensure that supports are relatively easy to remove while maintaining print stability.
  • Brim/Raft: It is recommended to use a brim (e.g., 5-8 lines) to improve bed adhesion and prevent corner warping, especially with ABS/ASA.

 

Installation Instructions:

 

  1. Print the adapter according to the recommended settings.
  2. Carefully remove all supports.
  3. Attach the printed adapter to the end of your VELUX ZCT 200K telescopic rod using the screw (this is usually the screw you unscrew to remove the original tip).
  4. Enjoy comfortable and durable operation of your VELUX windows and blinds!
