This fastener was designed to easily hook and remove a rope from a metal grid. I use it for a quick-release cat net, but there are certainly other applications. The rope should have a (maximum) 8 mm diameter, the grid must have a minimum 10 mm grid spacing, and the individual bars should not be thicker than 1 mm.
