Description

I made this jig to allow me to cut down small screws using a Dremel EZ Lock grinding disc while keeping a nice straight edge. It has threaded holes for M2, M2.5, M3 and M4 metric screws that are slightly oversized for easy insertion / removal while keeping them firm enough to hold in place while cutting. Although I've included a small “thumb protector” I'd recommend holding the piece in a vice for safety, or at a minimum hold it with decent gloves on.

I printed in ASA because the friction can cause PLA to melt, but it does print fine in PLA just don't expect it to last too long. I didn't try PETG but I'm not confident threads that small would work with it based on previous experience. It's best to print on a smooth plate and place the inside edge of the disc towards that smooth surface to avoid excessive catching. Pressing the tool gently forward also helps avoid that.
