Tic Tac Toe Jumbo Dice Game

A set of Jumbo dice with push fit letters O and X for playing the game of TicTacToe, also known as Noughts & Crosses

Being 30mm² the dice are beautifully tactile and make a decent fidget toy too

Whats in the download?

  • Jumbo Dice with letter recesses
  • Letter O & X to fit into those recesses
  • Stylish Tray

I've split this print into separate objects, this will allow you to choose a separate colour for each letter and the dice if you so wish. Separate plates are included for each.

How to play TicTacToe (Noughts & Crosses)

  • Print 9 Dice with their corresponding Os and Xs
  • Push fit the letters into each dice recess, they are an exact fit - use gentle force to insert them

Game Version 1 (TicTacToe)

  • Place all of the dice in the tray with a Blank side facing upwards
  • With your opponent, choose whether you want to play O or X and who should play first
  • Choose one of the dice and rotate it to display your letter
  • Your oponent does the same with their letter - they are not allowed to touch a dice that has already been flipped
  • The winner is the first one to get a row of  three letters in either a diagonal, horizontal or vertical direction
  • Sometimes there is no winner and a draw is called, keep playing until a majority win is achieved

Game Version 2 (TicTacDice)

  • Remove all of the dice from the tray
  • Player 1 rolls a dice, if it shows Face-up either an O or an X they place it in the tray with that letter facing upwards, place it in any slot
  • If a player rolls a blank, they pass over to the other player
  • Dices can only be placed in the tray if the dice shows any letter
  • Keep rolling and passing if a blank is shown
  • The winner is the first one to get a row of 3 letters of any kind and in any direction (diagonal, horizontal or vertical)

Both games are great fun and involve strategy and cunning

Thanks for looking

Update #1

So, I tested this out with the grandchildren, and their attention span was 10mins!  Not too bad for 2 & 3 yr olds :)

The one thing that I did notice was their desire to put the dice in some sort of visual order (all noughts or all crosses) This had me thinking about some potential upgrades to the dice.

My next project-ette is to create some kind of modular clip-on of colours, logos, letters and numbers ….

If I manage to work this out, you'll be able to use one dice with interchangable parts.  My goal is to get at least a 20min attention span from the grandkids. Maybe this could be the Ultimate 20 mins of peace & quiet game !!!

“…no promises, but I'll try lol”

Do you know what a Boost Token is?

If you download models from MakerWorld.com it is likely that you've got some boost tokens in your account

They are awarded for completing certain tasks, such as downloading a model

It's likely that you have quite a few, but may not be aware of them

Tokens typically have an expiry date and many ppl do let them expire and don't use them - its a shame, but they're easy to overlook ;)

When you see a ‘Boost Me’ section, like the one below and click it, you will be able to gift a creator a boost of points, you can boost several times too

After a period of time these build up and the grateful receiver can exchange them for a growing list of rewards, such as filament, maker kits and more

Its a great way to say thank you!
