This model is a 3D-printable replacement for the original drawer of the T+L Silbercar cosmetic case – a true vintage aluminum piece, built around 1970. This elegant vanity features a hinged lid with an integrated mirror. Upon opening, a large inner drawer automatically rises – however, after more than 50 years, this drawer is often severely damaged or disintegrated into dust.

Here you will find a functional and robust new design of this drawer, specifically designed for 3D printing. The model consists of 7 parts:

  • 3 main elements, assembled using precisely fitting dovetail joints,
  • 2 side wings,
  • 2 connecting pieces with angled supports, which are essential for stability and the classic design principle.

All parts can be easily assembled with super glue. I glued the dovetails from the outside, which may look somewhat messy in the photos – however, in the installed state, these areas are not visible because they completely disappear inside the case of the vanity.

The split version is optimized for standard print bed sizes. In addition, the raw data (undivided) are included if you want to adjust or segment the model differently.

Please, please, please… try it on before gluing.

This project is aimed at all those who wish to restore true design classics – using modern means and meticulous attention to detail.
