Description

Upate 19 October 2024 - if you would like the end cap to include a charge state indicator that looks like the following;

end update

Simple design to store or carry 18650 batteries. There are three models to choose from, single, double or quadruple. I have printed and used both the single and double, but I have not yet needed the quad. All the cases come with snug-fitting lids that close with a satisfying click.

Please note - important information on size

This model was designed for the 18650 battery which, as the name implies, is 18mm in diameter and 650mm in length and has a flat top and bottom.  There are variants of the 1850 battery that don't conform to the standard dimensions and they are typically easy to spot as they have a raised positive terminal and measure 18mm in diameter and 700mm in length. I would recommend that you measure your battery and confirm which you have.

If you have a battery that is longer than 650mm, you can still use this model by following the following method;

  1. Measure your battery length
  2. Import the model of your choice (single, double or quad)
  3. Click on the body only (to select the body and not the lid) and then click on scale.
  4. Untick uniform scale and modify only the z axis to whatever size you need (per your measurement in step 1) .
  5. Slice and print

If you printed this and found that your battery is too long, you could follow the above guide and select the lid only in step 3 which will mean you only have to print a new lid.
