Hyperbolic Gearset – Compact Demonstration Model

This Hyperbolic Gearset is a handheld mechanism designed to demonstrate hyperboloidal gear engagement in a compact form. This model highlights the smooth rotational interaction of uniquely contoured gears, making it an excellent educational tool or display piece.

Assembly Process:

  1. Gear Meshing: Align the hyperboloidal gears for optimal engagement.
  2. Frame Installation: Hold the outer structural frames against the gears to stabilize the assembly.
  3. Axle Insertion: Guide the axles through the aligned holes, ensuring that the assembly does not move.
  4. Pin Locking: Insert the 4 locking pins—pressing them in with a firm surface before using a small tool for final adjustment.

 

While not designed for high-load applications, this gearset provides a tangible look at hyperboloidal motion.
