Description

EDIT: The second print profile is a completely different design that allows the wheel to be assembled within the body of the sewing machine, thus allowing the wheel to turn. The wheel is also rounded, which creates a much more authentic model.

This is my first model design. I coulnd't find any decent antique sewing machine models anywhere, so I created this entirely in TinkerCad.

Best results for the sides and base are variable layer height. I've included two types of wheels, one rounded and one not.

This is my first creation! I hope you like it!

Simple, self-explanatory assembly, some glue is required.

Thanks, let me know what you think!

this was a really nice print, my mother was wanting to give a friend a sewing machine ornament for christmas since the person quilts, tossed it on the printer, added their name, and the next day it's done. glued it together and added an eyelet, looked great. showed it to my girlfrin and she asked to make one for her mother who is a seamstress, printed in solid blue, looked great, only problem was that some of the filagree started to break, so i'll have to fix that with a sodering iron.

Looks great! I wound up printing 60 of these for a customer and I used the flat-topped base instead of the tapered/beveled base. I think it looks better, but that's just my preference. The wheel shouldn't be glued in, though. It's designed to be turnable.

I didn't notice the profile for the turnable wheel till after I printed these, so it was glue it in so it wouldn't constantly fall out.

Weird that some of the filigree broke! Did you print the two halves with variable layer height as recommended? The pink one is cute! It's pretty easy to add the color to the filigree edge if you use the paint function in the Bambu slicer. Add paint by DEPTH so that it's just the outer edges.

Printed out nicely. used 0.2mm nozzle, 0.1mm layer, 4 walls, 15% infill Let's address the elephant in the room , self -explanatory? two wheels and two smaller parts- I get one wheel and one smaller part but how did I get the wheel to move? and why the smaller part if you only need one wheel?

Those two little round pieces are for putting the body together. If you look at the two halves of the body, there are holes. You should glue those two pieces into the halves. I'm not sure why you printed two wheels, though? One wheel goes into the rear end of the sewing machine before you glue it together. Be sure not to get glue into the little receptacle that holds the wheel in place. It was supposed to be self-explanatory, but I guess some people might need instructions. Look at the pictures again, you can see where the "wheel" is supposed to be.

I recommend using a .2 nozzle and printing at the highest quality setting for best results.

Hi! I really like this! Thank you!! Is it possible to give an option that does not have the scrolls or the word Singer on it with the 'wheel-turning' version?

The steering wheel proportions should be checked; I had to print it at 98% for it to fit, otherwise everything is fine

Weird. You're the only one that mentioned this problem, so I don't know what advice to offer. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
