Telephone Pole Insulator Center Piece
Print Profile(1)

Description
This is a nice centerpiece bowl (catchall) for antique telephone pole insulators. I printed this in PLA Wood; I am sure it can be done in others. this stand is designed to accommodate 1" taper that was the standard. This will not work for the 1 inch straight cut threads. I did draw it to attempt to make it universal and work for 1 ¼ taper to; I do not have an insulator to test for those. This was modeled off an actual pin that was removed from service in sometime in the mid to early 1940's (USA). If you are looking for a stand and not a catchall, that is available here.
The bowl is designed to be tip stable, see a picture in the model gallery for me pushing it over and it still righting itself. The threads for the shaft is 1" 12, class 1 (A and B) so the tolerance is loose enough to be snug for 3d printing. Thought is you can make adapters if its needed without needing me. You can cut and splice the shaft as needed; it was drawn to be stable with all the insulators I have. Add remix profile if you do and it works, as others may be looking for just that! I printed this in the linked item for BOM, you can do what you need; this item was selected as it was closest appearance to the actual modeled peg. If you do variants, please post back pictures and print profiles, I would love to see what others come up with.
