Hercules 12" miter saw zero clearance insert plate

Based on others comments I printed with reinforced settings in Sunlu PLA with alternating wall loops. 25% rectilinear infill for the plates, 45% rectilinear infill for the sacrificial inserts. I printed the connection pins on their sides for better strength. Considering they're cheap I might get a wooden dowel for the connection pins. My first (blue) sacrificial insert broke per other's experiences. Fixed the issue (black insert) by supergluing the joint for ONLY the insert and left the plate in two pieces so the insert is 100% replaceable as intended with the initial design. I think the issue is that since both the plates and sacrificial insert joint is at the same spot, the front insert doesn't have support where it needs it most. The issue might be lessoned by keeping the plate joint at a 90 degree angle, and the making insert joint a 45 angle. Alternatively we could print the plate in three sections so that the insert and plate joints are offset. But that'd be a bigger re-design and more assembly. Super glue works fine for now.

Printed the insert plate in Bambu PETG-HF. Printed perfectly. Unfortunately when I cut the insert, the strips wanted to move around as there was now no pressure to hold them in place. I had to glue them in to stabilize them. While the replaceable center strip is a great idea it just didn't work for me. Still, as a 1 piece (printed in 2 pieces) throat plate it works well. I would suggest dropping the replaceable insert with a 1 piece print which would allow for a more robust joint for the 2 pieces. Thanks for a very useful print.

Unfortunately, the two parts just don't hold together very well. Wouldn't trust it not to come apart during usage and quickly become a projectile. Great idea, just hard to get it to work with a print volume this size.

there is nothing to hold the slide in inserts in place after you cut the slot. mine caught the blade and exploded. i will reprint this as a solid with no isert and that should be fine

Printed for husband, he likes it. He did superglue the center piece together after playing with it. He says there's a slight give to it because after my father used the saw it's messed up. So you gotta be gentle. Gonna print more to keep on hand since they aren't "dad proof".

Hello Goober, I just recently got my Hercules Miter Saw and was looking for printable Zero Clearance insert and found this. But as my luck has it, I do not known a Bambu printer :/ I tried installed Bambu slicer in the hopes that it would talk to my Ender 5 Plus, but I am zero luck with that :( I was wondering if you would or could make a STL file for Cura so I can use it on my Ender 5 Plus? How do I only print the center insert so I can have multiple angles
