The weight is designed in 4 semi-independent parts, each approximately 80 grams, which can rotate independently.

This solution allows for dynamic adaptation to the movement of the spools, perfectly following the AMS’s pace.

 

Print without assembly and choose the heavy (recommended) or light version if you don't use unusual spools. Use my print profile for optimal support.

 

Thanks to the balanced weight distribution, the system prevents jams caused by lightweight spools, improving print reliability.

 

Each component is designed to work synergistically without compromising fluidity. The design is practical and efficient to optimize the use of lightweight spools or those requiring additional weight to remain in position. If the spool has a very large central hole, place it in position 2-3 of the AMS.

A well-executed project. It works perfectly. Finally, I can use filaments even with just a few grams without the AMS motor jamming.

Thank you for the design. Works like magic. Printed the heavy version. No more lifting of the spools even if they’re about to run out(Please see pics). Now I can confidently load without fear of spools lifting even if the spool is already too low(see pic). Only downside, is it needs a getting used to in swapping new spools as you have to wiggle it around, but just the least of my concern. 👍🏼

Hey! 👋 I noticed there are no internal supports generated inside the model (see the attached screenshot). I saw that your profile is set to “Build plate only” for supports — just wanted to check if that’s intentional, or if the internal areas are meant to be supported too. This absolutely works very well for its intended purpose, but is there an easy way to change inside spools when they run out that I'm missing? My spool 3 ran out and there was a bit of wrestling with spool 4 and such to get everything swapped. Worth the trouble if need be, but I'm wondering if there is a magic method I don't know about. Thanks, and nice work!
