The design is excellent above all else. However, the puck often gets stuck at the table joints. I purchased the same power adapter you suggested and used two 120mm fans, but the puck still doesn't move smoothly. It seemed to move a bit better on the textured plate than on the smooth plate. For the lighting, I added a variable boosting circuit and capacitor to maintain a steady 15V power supply to power the five LEDs. Had I known the puck wouldn't roll well, I probably wouldn't have used the variable power adapter. That would have eliminated the need for the boosting circuit.
