Description

 

This is a functioning model of an 1824 Chubb detector lock. Watch the video to learn more!

 

Required Parts:

  • (1) 25mm x 5mm metal dowel (Glue into frame - the key rotates on this dowel)
  • (2) 30mm x 5mm metal dowel (The detector and levers rotate on these dowels)
  • (4) M4xH6xD6 Threaded Inserts
  • (4) M4x8 Screws

Materials Used in Video:

  • All Filament is PETG: Hatchbox Silver, Prusament Jungle Green, Prusament Chalky Blue, Hatchbox Red, Hatchbox Gold
  • Glue is JB Weld Plastic Bonder

Keying Guide:

  • There are 24 different keys corresponding to the 24 possible combinations of the 4 levers. Refer to the Keying Guide PDF to determine which lever order and key you want to use.

FYI, the spring is missing from the 3MF file. It is in the STL files. Can't wait to print this and play with it.

This and the safe are really amazing! I am however, just a little confused about the key. I understand I can make any of the 24 keys... but I don't see on this, or the other project where even one key is on any plate? Am I missing they keyring stl somewhere ?

I figured it out! I opened directly in bambu studio, which doesnt include the key stl files, and if you don't look carefully at the STL Download it's easy to miss the directory of keys. I feel like if Key #1 was on a default plate it might make this less of an issues for newbies like me :) I'm going to order parts, and start my print tonight :D :D this is really awesome
