My take on the filament core storage solution. This design is stackable. I am considering coming up with storage clips for pegboards and the like, and possibly some type of label holder.
The top is designed to screw into the core. TIP - I recommend setting the core in about ¼" of water in a bowl or saucer and letting it sit 5 minutes before screwing the top into place, then let it sit and dry overnight before installing the bottom. This will help conform the inside of the core to the threads in the lid and should help keep it snug so it does not fall open when transporting.
The bottom should press on with maybe a little help from a soft mallet. If necessary, wet the core as directed above.
Having only one Bambu core to work with, I have tried to design these caps to accommodate slight changes in the dimensions of the spool cores. Time will tell how effective my efforts were.
The photo of the top is not oriented the same as it will be when you open the 3MF. I wanted the view to see the threads.
I recommend printing the top and bottom separately and at the middle of the print plate to maintain strength and avoid uneven finishes.
