Description

This is a project I made for myself and thought someone could use it well

  • Only thing you will need is 4x skate bearings which you snap on the little legs of the base
  • For joining the legs with the mount base you'll need four M5x15 screws

  • Middle of the radius is 250mm away from the screw
  • The rail is cut into 45° parts which snap together easily
  • For the A1 mini version you will need to glue the precut segments together which have dimples and holes for alignment
  • Note that this is a V1 of this design and it is certainly not perfect
  • I suggest printing in PETG for stronger and more durable print

printed really well but the mounting screw post quickly broke off. I remidied this by screwing a cold shoe down onto the printed body. I think you could probably just print a cold shoe on top and it'd last a bit longer than the screw but otherwise its perfect!

Oh damn, I thought that thread might be a problem. maybe some stronger filament could work better but for now I dont have any fix for this. Thanks for the feedback tho

Its actually fine! I wanted to post the photos of how I sorted the problem out so others could use the idea to apply their own fixes! This is a really great print, I've wanted a slider for a long time but I'm not pro enough to justify the expense! Thanks for sharing this print I'll use it a bunch!

This is perfect, I can't wait to try this out next time I'll finish painting a mini! Only issue for me was that due to the screws the joby can't be screwed on. Might have to build/print an adapter that raises the bed up a bit.

Thinking about it, it might be easier to add a hole and an indent to screw one of these in through the bottom

Thanks for the feedback. There is a cold shoe version of the trolley in print profiles and it works better 😅

Unfortunately the cold shoe does not fit my any of the camera mounts I have here, but punching a hole through the trolley in fusion did the trick, this will screw into my joby easily now!

I have 3D printed the sled and am very pleased with it Unfortunately, the carriage sometimes glides a little jerkily at the edges As with MrFox, the screw on my first sled also broke immediately However, the updated sled worked perfectly

Great idea. This will be nice to film small items. can you add a straight section? It would be nice to have a straight section for filming.

I also would like this with straight sections. Great idea for a build. I also agree with comment below that for the trolley having the ability to mount the bearing via a bolt might make for longer lasting, easier to grease axel. (I don't think threaded inserts would be good in this case as I find they tend to migrate a little when melting them into place.

Haven't printed this yet but I'm boosting because it's a bad ass idea.

I'm glad! I got it printed and tried it with my Osmo Pocket 3, it works wonderfully. Thanks for sharing your amazing idea!

For people who don't know, if you're looking for skate bearings, search for "608 bearings" or "608-2RS bearings". I think it would be cool if you had the 4 legs for the bearings be separate from the body of the base. You could have the legs pop through holes in the base. This way, you wouldn't need supports for the base at all, and it would be a cleaner design.

Great idea! Also the bearings are in the non printable supplies under the model
