Description

This model is exclusively for Dyson cordless Vacuums. If you need a accessory holder for a Dyson Big Ball vacuum, click here.

Hello everyone! I've updated this model to address previous concerns and further enhance it. The current version resolves the issues that were discussed in earlier comments.

Some of the comments  may no longer be relevant due to these significant updates. I encourage you to review the new version and provide fresh feedback. If you've printed the previous version, I recommend checking out this improved model. It would be awesome if you could rate this new and enhanced profile too!

Note to everyone that has contributed: Your input was valuable in helping me refine this design. Thank you for your constructive feedback that guided these improvements.

After creating the first version I have received a lot of great feedback, thank you MakerWorld community!

I've been working hard for the past week. I've built it up from scratch again, trying to put everything together, and come up with solutions. Now here is a universal mount for the following models: V7, V8, V10, V11, V12 and V15! It fits both standard and motorized brushes. I've replaced the fragile lip with a new spring design, which slides in the mount. This is far more durable, and also easily replaceable if needed. The wall mount has two slots for mini adjustments and is also thinner, and simpler.

The assembly is easy and speaks for itself, but here are the steps:

  1. Print the profile
  2. Carefully loosen the spring (it's printed in place)
  3. Slide the spring into the mount
  4. Attach the mount to the wall
  5. Slide on the mount and hear the satisfying “click” to lock it in place
  • To remove the mount, simply use a flat screwdriver on the bottom of the spring to slide it back(there is a recessed area) to remove the mount again.

Thank you!

Thank you, MakerWorld community for your awesome comments, love and feedback. I've had a blast designing it, and seeing people use it really made my day.

Key Features:

  • Dyson-Inspired Design: Crafted to complement your Dyson vacuum with a look that could have come straight from the company's design studio
  • Universal Compatibility: Engineered to accommodate accessories from the V7, V8, V10, V11, V12 & V15 (so including motorized brushes)
  • Effortless Installation: Requires only a single screw for secure wall mounting
  • Dual Storage: Efficiently stores two Dyson accessories, keeping your cleaning tools organized and readily accessible
  • Spring-Click Mechanism: Simply screw the bracket into place and slide-click on the mount for a secure, streamlined fit

Note:

Initially I uploaded a second version of this model and marked it as exclusive. I received a message from MakerWorld that people reported it, and they have taken it out of the Exclusive Program. After carefully reading the regulations again, I realized this was indeed not allowed and was a mistake on my part.

I chose to create a new model in MakerWorld due to the changes and comments on the previous model, which were no longer applicable. Since I have confidence that this model is better than the original, I've changed this entry to the new model and removed the old profiles. If you need the old models for any reason, just let me know, and I can provide them.

@krispykenyan I'm so sorry to hear this. I will send you a PM, I'd like to investigate and fix it. What dyson do you have? I'll try to find out why it's not compatible. edit: I can't reach out because I'm too low level.

no worries I’m gonna make it work still for other accessories. one of them fit but the others done. I have a Dyson SV15 model but as you can see that bottom piece of the attachments don’t match

@krispykenyan thanks for your reply. I see that the motorized connector doesn't fit. Is it only the width? Could you measure it? I really want to update the model.

I love the design! I have a Dyson V8, and some of my accessories have an additional “plug” to power them. This keeps them from fully locking in. The height is about 15.75mm; the width is hard for me to convey (I don’t know whether you need the circumference, the distance between the flat edges, or both). Edit: Since the start of this thread, the designer had published an updated version that addressed the issues identified in my initial comment.

Thank you for the compliment, but I'm so sorry to hear that that motorized piece also doesn't fit. I'm working on a change. From what I can see, it just needs to be wider, right, and not deeper?

@falqoon No worries; anything that helps with your design! Tracing along the edge with a sharpie, it does seem like it needs to be wider and taller. The “width” (the distance between the parallel sides on the left and right) is ~26.2mm. The additional height might be an issue to accommodate, since it leaves less material between the two holes.

@saltysweat thank you for your understanding. I think i have the solution for you. I've uploaded a new print profile (version2) which is a small change on the model to accommodate versions which have a bigger power plug on the motorized brushes. I think it should work, but unfortunately I cannot test it, because I don't have these brushes. I am happy to help if its still not correct.

how in god green earth did you guys slide the screw in wall mount part into the actual units. I can’t get it to slide at all until I use like a mallet to wack it in. which I know won’t be an option when I attach it to the wall

What printer do you have? It slides really smoothly with me. It should have a total clearance of .3 millimeters. I've tested it pretty thoroughly.

the A-1 mini. it seems like no one else in the comments had issues and it seems like the creator really put in the work to make it the best he could so I don’t know what the deal with mine is. I had to shrink it by 10% to get it to slide in

That is really weird, I am the creator. I really want to figure out why it's like that at your end. Did you print the profile?

Printed perfectly, exercise caution when removing from supports to avoid breaking the catch - see photos

Thanks for your rating! Yes, the lip is fragile, I've tried to make it as sturdy as possible with fillets, but due to the print orientation it's weak. With normal use it shouldn't be an issue though, but remove the support with care.

Love the design. My only question is why bother with the springed clicker? you only use that once? it prevents your whole design from being removed at some point in the future. why not design something that just moves into place to lock the backplate? that can be unlocked when needed?

Thank you for your comment. I'm glad you like it! As mentioned in the description, you can easily dismount it: To remove the mount, simply use a flat screwdriver on the bottom of the spring to slide it back(there is a recessed area) to remove the mount again.

Great print. The attachments fit perfectly and securely. The mounting system with the printed spring action works flawlessly.

Fit my accessories perfectly! Easy to mount, lovely design. Some weird stringing/patterning under some of the supports, but all on the wall-side so it doesn't show anyway. Thanks for this!

Thank you, looks good! I'll see if I can think of a way to improve it. I didn't really had issues with it.

Printed two of the updated version on my X1c for my for my Dyson v7 attachments Printed off perfectly the first go. Fits great! Had to remove once installed (user error - needed wall anchors for the screws), and the spring mechanism was fairly easy to unlatch to get the holder off the wall mount. Spring still held tension on reinstall after all my fiddling with it.

I'm glad it turned out great! I did a minor tweak to the profile you've used a minute ago (noticed the back was a little too thin. Yours will be fine, it will last, but I just wanted to correct it. Would be awesome if you could rate it :) (not sure if that is possible without a print though, if not, then never mind. I'm glad you like it!
