Description

Design

  • Materials - This design requires three 24" long 1¼" dowel rods. I purchased these from The Home Depot and cut them in half, so I was able to make two stools with three of them. They are toleranced to the ones I bought, but they are not press-fit. If you try to use a different brand and it doesn't go in, let me know and I'll make another print profile for that brand.
  • Strength - It is held together with gravity and pressure. When the step is pressed down, it tightens the entire stool. This is an age-old design that I brought to the the 3d-printer.

Note: I ran out of white filament just before I finished the print, so that's why the bottom of the step is tan-colored.

Assembly

  1. Turn the top upside down
  2. Set the step on top of it upside down
  3. Put the legs into the holes
  4. Turn the whole thing right-side-up
  5. Press the step down until the stool is firm

printing this now. I'm going to use PETG with an .8mm nozzle on my A1. I'll post the profile when it's complete. I also plan on modeling some feet for it that includes a tpu pad for anti-skidd on smooth floors.
