Description

Here is a print in place Auto-Locked Hanger.

The model was inspired by a similar wood hanger with marble ball seen on Pinterest, but adapted for 3D printing.

Please see the print versions below:

  1. Print in place model (the ball is already in the main piece and needs a slight push to be detached)

    1a. for double-sided tape

1b. for wall mounting using screws

  2. Print with a pause (the pause is already preset) if you want the ball to be a different color (the ball must be printed first).

    2a. for double-sided tape

2b. for wall mounting using screws

 Update (06. Feb. 2025)

Print in place model has been improved to avoid the ball coming off during printing

For wall mounting, 3mm Dia. screws to be used.

For mounting using double sided tape, there is a designated space, to cover also thick tapes, see the picture below:

My first print was including the ball inside of the hanger and it failed, however with the pause option everything was smooth thank you for the design. For saving some filament, I reduced infill to %15, and walls to 5–>2 and all was okay.

Same thing happened to me. going to try printing the pause version instead to see if that fixes it.

what does the pause version change

Was unable to slide the wall mounting part into the the rear of the hanger. There does not seem to be enough clearance.

I just today printed one and had the same issue. I printed model 1b, print in place with screws.

Hello, I'm sorry to hear that, have you tried to print the piece on the plate where is called "wall mount piece with more clearance"? see the picture below

Worked on second try with the pause. I recommend using this option. Works great for the kitchen!

I printed in PETG in-place and the print went great but the ball falls out when you pull the towel out. I'm guessing this isn't supposed to happen? Using PETG-HF Bambu Filament on a P1S. Guessing it's too flexible and I should have used PLA?

It can happen if you pull down hard, the design concept is when you want to remove the towel pull up a little and it releases

I printed the hanger with ABS, but turns out the hanger is so vulnerable when printed vertically. I broke soon after the print is done. So I printed another one horizontally (with a little support). This time, the hanger is much stronger and turns out good. I like this design.
