Description

Hello There!

Spool perfect for A1 mini and A1.

Boost Me (for free)

If you like the design.

The small piece at the 2nd plate is for locking the spool, as on the last picture in the gallery.

The spool is a way different from others.

I spent a lot of time eliminating things that made me angry, which led me to develop a spool that met my requirements.

  1. I think you will like it because the filament clip is extremely friendly and does not bend the filament → you will not lose any millimeters due to bending.
  2. The filament, once secured, does not seep outside the spool's rim which allows for tight storage.
  3. Spool has also designed the interface to stack the spools on top of each other as needed. magnifications on the corners prevent the filament from unrolling as in other mini designs.
  4. However, the maximum overall dimension equals the original spool and so there is no problem with compatibility with AMS light.
  5. The spool allows you to tuck it back into the cardboard box from the refill.
  6. Extremely fast in printing with perfect quality
  7. Designed to save material and to be robust at once

The Spool LOOKS so cool (in my opinion)

excellent. great design, printed fab. but the clip in my orange circle in my photo how do you use it? I don't really understand.

hey. beautiful colour. the clip is for sliding in to the center of the spool to lock it by unintended opening. I will add some additional pictures. I forgot about it during project description.

got it, worked it out - thanks. Excellent for me, as I had spool unlock on my AMS, and this happened. so this lock will 100% stop that.

So far so good 👍 will be glad if you can share pictures of the whole bunch that you printed :d love to see results of printing :) If you would like I can bet that everything will be fine no matter how many you will print as I uploaded the project after printing 20 spools for my own ;)

I can only think of 2 minor tweaks to this great design. 1) make the retaining clip which goes inside the loaded spool slightly narrower at the top to facilitate insertion, 2) having two identification ovals (one on each half), use one to deboss the weight of the finished empty spool (132 gm) to make it easy to know how much filament remains as the spool is emptied by subtracting that weight from the weight of the spool+filament.

My favorite spool holder for self-printing. Elegant and perfectly sized for the AMS lite. The best part is that it’s printable even on the A1 Mini and already integrates a filament clip

I absolutely love the built-in filament holder! It's a game changer since I can finally put my filament rolls right next to each other, without having a strand of filament sticking out the side

great print! any way you can improve how the honeycomb connects to the inner cylinder? I've had an issue with them cracking as pictured

hey! I'm not saying that the design is perfect, but your picture clearly shows that the crack is along the printing line. it will mean that it's rother not design problem, but settings of print or filament / bed temp. Can I ask you, did you printed my print profile or you just downloaded the STL and used your own preset? which build plate you used and are you sure that you selected correct one during sending task to printer? I personally printed 20 those spools from PLA and the same amount of PETG spools and I never had a problem like you, so I'm a little bit surprised.

Well worth the boost! Thos is my new favorite spool. It prints really easy, even on the A1 Mini. Try it and you’ll love it.
