Description

Lunar New Year tealight candle holder for the year of the snake. The overall shape of the holder is derived from the shape of a lantern and it's fine ribs are inspired by the elegant form of a snake. Compatible with tealights up to 39.5mm, fits bambulab LED tealights aswell as most wax tealights. Holder has convenient hole in the bottom to be able to push out any tealights that might get stuck. When not using one of my profiles use 0.12 mm variable layer heights on the bottom and top section of the middle curvatureto ensure good quality overhangs and top surfaces.

Sadly this print didn’t come out great using Bambu Lab PLA Matte. The lower half is very bumpy probably due to the steeper angle of the overhangs compared to the other tea light model which prints perfectly.

Hello Stuart, which printer did you use?

A1 Combo using the Bambu Lab PLA Matte filament settings and the designer provided print profile with the Bambu Handy app.

Okay, might be due to the A1 missing an auxillary cooling fan, on my P1 and X1 the overhangs printed fine. I will look into an optimised profile for the A1

I’ve printed two now, in different PLAs, but I can’t get the bottom curves to be smooth. The first (in blue PLA silk) I just printed directly from MakerWorld and the second I made sure I had the variable layer height set to the smallest layers. But neither of them look good underneath. Any suggestion as to what I am doing wrong. Printing on a P1S and both filaments have been dried.

did you use my print profile? if you reduced the layers too much it can actually make it worse. id recommend to go to 0.14 mm max for the variable layers on the bottom.

Yes, the blue one I printed without any changes to anything. Then I printed the white one, thinking that I had to activate something like the variable layers - it seems slightly better but not smooth at all.

nice print, I changed the material to PETG. It's printed in a semi translucent Amber Filament.

Very festive. Prints easy and clean without much stringing.

Printed 3x on the same plate perfectly with Bambu PLA Basic. Crazy how real they look with the Makers Supply Tealights. The standard is now set high in building my collection to celebrate the Lunar New Year, slithering to good fortune!
