Assembly Instructions

  • No additional material is needed for the assembly. Just print and snap.

  • An assembly animation is provided below to make the process a lot easier. Orientation of all parts in the animation is identical to model files so that you can take reference.

This is a beautiful model and it was great to be able to use this in class when talking about binary. I initially had problems with the axle flexing, which resulted in the carry tabs occasionally missing each other or failing to hold onto each other when carrying multiple bits. I printed the axle again, but combined both of the pieces so it printed as one piece, and it was more consistent. Thanks for sharing!

Thank you so much for these kind words and support! It makes me proud when a model is used for such purposes. I am genuinely happy that you shared this. About the center beam, you are right. I have been told about this, and making it thicker and stronger is on my to-do list. It is great you sorted it out and I believe others can benefit from that idea until I post an update. Last but not least, I would be extremely happy if you would like to give suggestions for such models help students learn basic concepts by interacting with them. So far we have the counter and Fibonacci sequence but I am willing to contribute more. Any idea is greatly appreciated! Happy printing!
