I was updating the smoke detectors in our home and when I got to the basement, I was undecided how I wanted to secure these to a drop ceiling. At first I figured i'd just cut up some 1x4 I had laying around but then I realized I could 3D print something that already had pilot holes to simplify the install.
These are for the First Alert/BRK style smoke alarms that have the bracket shown in one of the pictures.
Installation is straight forward, put screw into base plate and screw that through the drop ceiling then with the exposed screw on the back side, line up the holes and tighten it up.
Its not fancy, but it works well. If it helps, I used a set of BRK cabinet screws I had laying around, I think they were 8x1.5" or maybe a little shorter.
