Description

A huge thanks to everyone who appreciated and supported my work! Your support inspired me to create and release an improved version of the LED Light Frame for my X1C printer, which I first released last year.

Key features:

  • Smooth corners: No need to cut or solder the strip light.
  • Glass riser: Raises the glass to help dissipate heat, with 2 height options available.
  • No glares from the top.

Improvements made:

  • No glue or adhesive needed to secure the strip light!
  • TPU and Frame locking system: Easily assemble and disassemble for future add-ons.
  • Once assembled, the frame is now a solid, properly locked piece.

The model has 4 options (4 Print Profiles are available):

  • Frame & Glass Riser & TPU gasket.
  • Frame & Glass Riser, without TPU.
  • Frame & TPU gasket, without Glass Riser.
  • Just the Frame, without Glass Riser and TPU.

About the strip light:

This model is designed for strip lights with a max width of 10mm. However, I recommend using an 8mm strip light, as shown in my pictures and video.

Feedback is very welcome if you try a 10mm wide strip light or one from the Bambu Lab Store!

I've tested two types of strips, both 8mm wide:

They both fit well, but I recommend the one on the right, which you can also find here:

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0B7BBYCZ4

https://www.amazon.de/dp/B0B1J69YMH

Printing instructions:

1) Print the base: Choose the plate you need; the cable hole can be on the back left or right side (from your perspective).

2) Print the top: Use dual or single colour. The model is the same, but I painted the dual-colour version to add a bit of reflected light from the frame.

3) Print the TPU. This plate is only included with the TPU gasket option.

4) Print the Levers & Clips plate. This plate contains the Levers only with the Glass Riser option.

Suggestion:

I recommend printing a couple of Clips PTFE Chain from Ariox3D to keep the tube from bumping into the strip light rail.

Assembly instruction:

Is it also compatible with the P1S?

I can't actually test it, I don't have a P1S, but the dimensions are the same, and people shared pictures with the previous version of the frame on top of a P1S, so I'd say it's 100% compatible! Please, share pictures here if you decide to give it a go! :)

LED Light Frame
Nice simple riser that works with the Bambu USB LED light strip plugged into the aux USB port in the P1S. The connections between the base riser pieces was extremely tight, not sure if that is a calibration issue or a model issue. it might benefit from adding just a hair more clearance in the keyed puzzle shape connections. Otherwise it's perfect.

Excellent design! I printed with translucent PETG to get the glow effect. I used the LED strip from Maker's Supply and ran into two issues: 1. The USB cable that came attached to the strip was too short. I sacrificed an old USB cable to swap on the LED strip. 2. The LED strip has a solderless connector for the cable/LED strip. I added a pocket for the connector in the corner to hold the connector. I also added an anchor loop for a zip tie to secure and provide strain relief for the USB cable.

Works great with the Bambu Lab supply USB LED light strip on the P1S with the built in USB port. The light strip has an adhesive backing but isn't even needed because the riser holds it in place perfectly. This means you can still reuse the light strip later on if you change your setup.

I printed the light only frame. I picked the dual color for the top piece and this is how it turned out. I feel like it looks like the TPU pieces from your youtub video. There is no ledge to it at all just all flat. I am about to pick the single color one but I dont want to waiste more fillament. Can you confirm if this is what it should look like or not please? There is also no second color. The printer didnt stop early either it said 100% complete.

I had a clog sorry. I am new to this. I will try the print again.

Hi, it looks like the printer stopped in the middle of the model! It shouldn't be like that at all. Maybe some issue when the filament swapped? Let me know how it goes with the single colour.

Superb top attachment for my P1S, I am utterly delighted with this piece. I'm using an "FCOB COB USB LED" with 4000K as the LED strip—its power supply runs directly from the P1S's internal USB port :) https://amzn.to/40MBlo7

Thanks for the boost! Can you show me how so you connect the strip to the internal USB? I'd like to optimise that, but I own a X1C, so no internal USB port! 😐

I have 3D printed your model's cable openings for both sides On the left side, the LED's power cable is routed externally And on the right side, the USB cable to the P1S For this, I designed a cable clip to securely route the cable inside the printer https://makerworld.com/en/models/1036246#profileId-1020120 While you could route the cable directly inside the printer and connect it, in my opinion, this has the disadvantage that the LED lighting cannot be manually switched off and would therefore be permanently on, since the USB port in the printer always supplies power when switched on Furthermore, routing it externally offers the advantage that I can potentially supply another device via the USB port 😉

Awesome! Came from an AMS riser to this (only changed because I have 2 AMS units) I love the dual glass kickstand. I printed it out of ABS since I print high temp material. Looks great!

Thanks for the boost! I'm planning to add the AMS Riser "add-on"! But, maybe, it will be ready in a couple of months!

Let there be light. Great model. Went with Bambu transparent teal for that neon light look as a previous person posted (great idea, thanks). Full power over powers the camera, but low power looks great on video. Thanks again for the model, much appreciated.
