UPDATE 1 - 18.01.2025

  1. fixed an object orientation on plate 18
  2. fixed a mirroring issue on plate 4

Thank you all so much for the feedback and the overwelming response. 89 batmobile coming by the end of this month so watch out for that. - also assembly instructions will be video on my new youtube channel so stay tuned for that too. - THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH !

This started with me wanting a very detailed and accurate DELOREAN. Seeing that at least in the free internet pile, such a thing does not exist - and feel free to argue here - i decided to make my own, so i bought the HAYNES DOC BROWN's OWNERS WORKSHOP MANUAL and got to work.

From what i saw this is the most accurate free model there is on the internet (i keep saying free because i do not check paid models) and it contains every significant detail allowed by 3d printing and size - a lot actually

So without any puns lets get started

  • i wanted to start with a very accurate delorean so i made that and after i started making it a time machine, not the other way around
  • it is 35cm long, aprox 1.13 scale - so relatively small with lots of fine details - when its done and done corectly its absolutely stunning - definetly a show piece for me
  • it is the first version of the time machine from the first movie - it was a matter of personal preference as i tought the first one was the best
  • doors and bonnet open true to original
  • it prints perfectly with the provided 3mf - i'm not saying there aren;t more improvements that can be made, but this worked as is
  • assembly is not that hard, you just have to follow the order of things
  • assembly is not that hard is a bit subjective - definetly not for beginners
  • as for the main colour i would have liked to go with silk+ silver, but that was not in stock so i went with S+ Titan grey
  • for the side cables i entertwined red and black filament - 1m of each shoul be enough - 50 cm pieces for each side - they start from the front flux box and stop at the top flux box on the top
  • some parts with supports will require a little sanding - flux rails
  • btw i used bambu new COOL SUPERTACK, but as a reminder use clean plates and dried filament - it matters very much especially  with the small parts

Hope you enjoy this as much as I do

Thanks! Its GiantArm Silver from Amazon. It's what I had on hand, but it worked out well.

According to the pdf the long side rails on plate 4 should be mirror images of each other.

thanks mate, I think this year wil be about nostalgia prints for me, I’m planning an 89 Batmobile for my next big project, I know that similar to this, there are quite a lot of variations , bet very few capture everything, and none take it this far

Can't wait to see it. I designed a 3D print of the Batwing from the 1989 movie but never got around to the Batmobile. I'll have to print your version when you're done and display them together

good luck! i watched the tested channels video on the scale model of the batmobile, it sounded like its really tough to get all the complex curves correct.

Hello. I found one necessary modification. I had to make a mirror image of the "SKIRT" object on the 4th plate.

I initially thought it was warping, but it seems there’s a problem with the frame on plate 5, or I might be missing something."

it wasn't sitting flush on the plate, dont really know why, anyway, uploaded the fixed plate now. you could also delete the part, copy and paste the other one and mirror it on X axis
