very cool design. the supports come off, but it’s like doing neurosurgery for a glioblastoma on a patient with nineteen cervical vertebrae.

Great design. I had 7 attempts at printing this. 5 of those on my A1 Mini and 2 on my A1. On the A1 mini it kept breaking in the same area. Tried quite a few different ways to try and get it to print. Tried different support methods, tried slowing down the "travel speed" of the nozzle, even swapped out the filament thinking it was the cause at one point but just couldn't get it to print on my A1 mini? It also broke in the same area on my A1, however on my 2nd attempt it managed to print it off and i never changed any settings? Agree with a previous users comment it is very delicate to remove the supports, so just take your time and remove a little bit at a time. Turned out great afterwards. Thank you very much for your print. Maybe as a suggestion you could increase the distance in the "Support/object XY distance" possibly to .5mm to help remove the supports a little easier? Didn't think about that until i was doing a print on another project. May give try it again and see if it helps

Hello! Thank you so much for your detailed feedback and for your support of the model! Your patience in testing it 7 times is truly admirable, and I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience this may have caused. Regarding your suggestion to increase the XY distance to 0.5mm, I will immediately follow up with testing and adjustments to optimize the support structure. Once again, thank you for your comments and suggestions—they are incredibly valuable for improving the model!

Please, don't apologise. Thank you for doing this, I'm really intrigued how you made the springy part of the model and hoping to learn this in FreeCAD someday. My comments may or may not help as I'm no guru on 3D printing but I read on the Bambu Wiki about supports and noticed about this XY distance. There is also a Top Z layer distance you could maybe fiddle with to see if that would help? See link below Support | Bambu Lab Wiki.bambulab.com/en/software/bambu-studio/support#top-z-distance

I will check out the link you provided. As for the spring part, you can search for videos on spring manufacturing, as it's quite challenging to explain it in detail here.

Truly amusing print, two giraffes printed On the Bambu Cool Plate, the support structure even adhered so well that it came off significantly easier I also printed a “light giraffe”, see image 😁

As others have noted, neck breaks very easily. Printed twice and carefully tried to remove the support but still broke the neck. I was able to superglue it back. Also, the back of the head, neck and legs are very rough as a result of the supports, however printing in white helped hide some of the imperfections. Nice idea but needs some more refinements.

Been thinking about it… have you experimented with making it separate parts that can snap or glue into place? Then you can orientate it for the best print… 3 parts, body, neck and head for example. possibly even avoiding supports
