Assembly

  • print all files (head arms and main body)
  • remove all supports, make sure there are no supports remaining in the arm sockets
  • put the head on the body (this may take a little bit of force)
  • attach the arms

let me know if you need any more help

customising your robot

  1. I have uploaded a plain insert so you can customise them or edit it how you want . I have also made some inserts (heart and battery insert)
  2. additionally the size of the hand is 5 mm so if you want to make your own custom items for your robot hold use 4.8 mm cylinder so it can fit in the robots hand like the cup and flower i have made

So my wife and I were having a little spat. Nothing huge. Neither of us even remember what we were fighting about. But I printed up the heart one, holding a flower, with the heart plate, and presented it to her. She's not mad anymore. Thank you ;) I also printed up the smiley dude with the closed eyes, a full battery, and a cup of coffee. My dude just gets me (I type as I drink coffee). Well done.

printed very well. looks amazing, but as several others have mentioned getting the arms into sockets was a near impossible task. I did clear all supports, and try to twist into the sockets. this resulted in 1 arm breaking below shoulder. super glue fixed almost completely.

I was able to get my husband to help pop it all in but the arm cracked a tiny bit as he did it. But still looks adorable and works well.

The silk filament is very fragile. I had the same issue with the gold silk, but all the rest have been amazing!

I had a similar issue and I was using either SUNLU Matte or PLA+ 2.0. The matte isn't as tough, but still not as brittle as silk. Still broke the arm on my first robot and had to print to a new one. Could be just the tiniest amount of sagging around the shoulder socket and/or the ball joint itself. Could have been I was just too rough during assembly. I've printed 5 robots since then and I use my deburring tool to smooth out the top and bottom of the ball joint and any bits on the inner lip of the shoulder socket. They snap together really well now and I haven't had any further issues. Even the reprinted arm did great with the slightest bit of smoothing.

It was easy to print, and only pliers were needed to get the supports off. They probably weren't needed but made the job easier.

I was just wondering if a toy rocket would be possible. Just a simple one a little bigger than the mug. A pencil is another option. I honestly love this design and can't wait to show my robotics friends.

How did you get the arms in the socket?

They pop in. Some of the filament makes it tough to get it in easily, so just work it back-and-forth while applying pressure. Don’t force it. They’ll go in. :)

not too sure what has happened maybe a blocked nozzle but it shouldn’t be something wrong with the nozzle. did the print say it was completed?

It said the print had finished... Very odd! I'll try again tonorrow. I would think it's probably my error though, it's only my 3rd print Thanks for replying.

Maybe some sort of circuit board or internal electronics design almost like you are seeing part of the inside of the robot
