Description

Marble Run 5 stands 570mm (22.5") tall and has two auger lifts taking the marbles to the top of the four towers and three tracks to get them down the run.

Only basic printing skills are required. All of the parts can be printed on a Bambu A1 or similar printer. Everything snaps into place and very little adjustment is required.

Marble Run 5 was designed around standard children's 5/8" (15.8mm) glass marbles.  About 30 marbles are required to operate the marble run. It is powered by two TT Motors and an optional Speed Controller.

It is a fun and challenging project.  Detailed, illustrated assembly instructions are posted here with the model. Be sure to download a copy before you start your project.

You don't have the correct zig zag track uploaded. The one you provided has smooth sides. However, it is supposed to have four connectors that connect to the mounting brackets that clip to the towers. Can you upload the correct zig zag? This marble run took nearly 2 spools of filament and now I can't assemble it :-( The zig zag tower itself is 210 g of filament down the drain.

oh wow. I’m sorry. I’ll be back at my computer in a couple hours and I will fix that!

I will include the missing part that you can glue on.

That would be great! I was just getting ready to start modeling something up that would go in those brackets that I could glue on. But if you already have one that would be awesome!

Just a FYI, I had to create a custom process to get the first plate to print on a X1C - the model covers the exclusion area which is unprintable by default. I don't want to upload an alternate print file and "steal" your points :> Might be worthwile to create a second one that can be printed on the X1/X1C/X1E, or I'm happy to send you mine to upload yourself

My X1C is on order and won’t be here until Feb or March. When you upload a profile to someone else’s model you get to check a box to determine where the profile points go. And that is a smaller reward than the model points. so you can do it either way. But if you have a profile that works with the X1C please add it. you are doing me a good favor!

ok, I'll upload and send you the points. The core X/Y printers have a zone at the left front of the printer where the head goes to cut the filament between color changes. The default profiles all limit your ability to put any models on that part of the plate so you have to override the default settings.

This is awesome...but half the items hang off the plate on the X1C profile, and the first plate covers the exclusion area.

There is a print profile specific to the X1C. Please download that profile and give it a try.

Thanks. It has been a fun build. I would have made some more gizmos for it if I wasn't running out of time. But it is very modular, so I could still add more.

plate 1 gave me trouble. the print head cover kept coming off even after I taped it on and could not see any misalignment. I cut the base into four parts and redistributed the pieces and had no further problems.
