Description

Hello! I designed a motor mount for a budget foam glider. The mount supports a high-speed motor with a 7mm x 16mm, along with a propeller.

The motor fits smoothly into the mount, which features a backstop for added support and a cable management cutout to simplify wiring later.

The mount includes easy attachment holes for securing it to the plane or can be directly glued if preferred. I adjusted the back wing direction so the plane constantly aims to lift up. It glides smoothly and can fly quite far, depending on the amount of weight added to the front for balance. I repurposed an on/off switch and a battery from a disposable vape, fitting them in the front. Thanks for checking it out—hope you enjoy it as well!

It printed smoothly. After removing the supports I installed the motor which I had grabbed from an old drone. Then I grabbed a switch, wires, and the two ends of a battery case and soldered it all. I then proceeded to cut a hole into the front of my plane to make room for the battery and switch. Then I hot glued everything in place and put tape over the wires to hide them. For the propeller I took an old propeller from my drone and trimmed it down so it would fit. The plane flys great! Thanks :)
