Description

Hi guys, enjoy my knitted Elephant model available as multi-color print on separate plates. The eyes are printed separately and then can just be glued on. This uses quite less filament. As always feel free to add additional print profiles if you have nice ideas.

As some people were facing problems with the trunk breaking off, I embedded the trunk now quite much in the support which should solve the issue. Be careful when changing the print settings and e.g. making the support thinner around the trunk!

Prepared print profiles include height of 75mm.

The trunk keeps falling off its supports around layer 540 on the 75mm tall version. The model itself looks nice but I haven’t been able to get it to print successfully yet.

Thank you very much for the feedback! I didn't know about this issue and had no problem so far... I'll try it for myself again and let you know!

It could be due to me printing it on a bed-slinger (A1). Perhaps it just needs a tad more support in that area.

I print it on a A1 mini now then we‘ll see:)

Is the new model posted here? I tried to print twice but both times the trunk broke off. Just now I confirmed that it broke at layer 539. I don't think I see a new version with more trunk supports...

Thank you for your question! I just update the printing profile files in the same profiles as before. If you download it and open it you should see that there's a support on the front of the trunk (see image) that is not visible in your print. So it was not yet the latest print profile. Really sorry for the inconvenience! Feel free to give it another try!:)

You don't need to apologize! This model is great, so cute! Thank you so much for being so responsive. This updated design has surpassed layer 539 and so far is looking good!

I had the exact same problem, I glued it on and used a bandage to cover it up, it looks pretty cute :)

The trunk broke off while printing, I patched it up with a band-aid, and I think it looks even better 😊

that‘s THE way to deal with problems💪🏻 sorry that happened! I haven‘t heard from the trunk problems for a long time now so I assume it‘s just a negative outlier😅

It's super cute. I had the trunk break off after the new update, but I'm still giving it a thumbs up. It's only the second thing I've ever printed though, so it is probably user error. It still looks great even with half a trunk. Elegoo Neptune 4 pro. 7% infill, gyroid fill.

sorry to hear! What kind of printer and slicer was it? The supports look different than how I "painted" them, so probably that's the reason that the mechanical stability was not granted

printer: Elegoo Neptune 4 pro Slicer: Cura I'll probably try to print it again after I get some more experience under my belt. I probably didn't have the right support option clicked. Thanks for making it. I downloaded some of your other designs and look forward to printing them. Just gotta finish my deadpool helmet first.

Hmm I see. Just make sure that the trunk is stabilized from the front and the back so it is stabilized from both sides. The support should anyways come off pretty easily so for the elephant it's better to overstabilize a bit:) The other designs should work fine as they are less error prone!:)

Printed perfectly with the fastest profile. The supports almost lift off by themselves. I wanted to give the ka profile rating but I don't understand why it won't let me do it. A1 mini

Indeed looks great! What do you mean by fastest profile - which one you using exactly?:) Maybe the rating does not work because I switched out the print profile today as some people had problems with the trunk and you were using this profile:)

The print profile is that of 2 hours of another user, however I like it a lot, I will also print the larger models

Fun little print. Turned out great. Supports came off well. Some minor deburring and lighter burn cleaned up the sharpish edges from the raft and support.
