My son loves the printed throwing stars other people have made, but we have had a rough time getting them to stick in cardboard. This version is slightly bigger and uses 3 quarters at the center to give it more weight so that it sticks better. We printed tons and variations, and these have worked the best for him.
The clips go in snuggly so that the quarters are held tightly. I recommend lining up the throwing star on top of the clip with the clip prongs point up, then pressing down with your palm on the top of the throwing star. Flip it, put 3 quarters in, then push the other clip in as far as you can. If it doesn't fully snap into place, again put it clip side down and press on the top of the throwing star.
