Astronaut in Space: HueForge Filament Painting

I'm thrilled to share my first-ever 3D print design - an Astronaut Space HueForge Filament Painting! This piece combines my love for space exploration with the innovative HueForge technology, creating a stunning multi-colored display that brings our cosmic adventurer to life.

As a first-time HueForge user, I was amazed by how the software helped me create this dynamic piece. The design features an astronaut figure with carefully planned color transitions that create a beautiful, painting-like effect when printed with multiple filaments.

Print Details

This multi-color print has been optimized for quality and visual impact. I've carefully tested the settings to ensure the best possible results for fellow makers.

The design works beautifully with the recommended filament combination, but don't be afraid to experiment with different colors - especially for the Silk accent color!

Recommended Filaments:

For this print, I recommend leaving Black, Grey and White as your base colors and swap out the Silk Gold for a color of your choice.

• ELEGOO PLA Matte Black
• Bambu Lab PLA Basic Grey
• Polymaker PolyLite PLA Silk Gold
• eSUN PLA+ Cold White

Swap Instructions:

    Start with Black
    At layer #7 (0.64mm) swap to Gray
    At layer #12 (1.04mm) swap to Metallic Gold
    At layer #15 (1.28mm) swap to White for the rest.

Recommended Print Settings:

• Layer Height: 0.08mm
• Initial Layer Height: 0.16mm
• 100% Rectilinear Infill
• No Supports
• Prime Tower (Adjusted in Print Profile)
• Textured Plate

Post Processing

• Depending on your final print quality and the level of stringing, if required, you can use a soft to medium bristle brush to gently dislodge the string and a few passes over with a heat pen or heat gun to remove them. PLA is not very heat resistant so limit the heat and time or the plate may warp!!

• I found there to be minimal stringing with this print - I printed with a X1C with a .4mm nozzle.
