Bill of Materials

Description

This one is made for my own needs, but can be useful for anyone who are using 50mm duct hose for his printer or anything else ventilation!

!!! This is simple version with removable shutter, If I'll get requests with Shutter with stoppers or even valve type turnable Shutter, I will make the ones. Just for my personal needs this simple kind i perfect!!!

Back story…
I'm happily using my own made ventilation system for my X1C printer. You can find it HERE
It is fully functional. Only thing there, I'm putting hose to my window only when printing quite toxic materials like ABS or ASA. All the other time I was taking it off as didn't want to bring cold air into my printer and room when not functional. Lately I have started to print more materials so I want my vent system to be in place permanently. So I came to this solution. Window/Wall mount with shutter and for more usability of model I made a hose jointing mount as well.

50mm Hose Window/Wall mount and Hose Joint with Shutter

Hose Window/Wall Mount with Shutter is presented in two versions

  1. To be assembled using 4x  M3x6mm Machine Screws and Heat Inserts
  2. To be assembled using 4x M3x8mm Self Tapping Screws (or a bit longer)

Mounting to the wall Is to be done with 8x M3 Countersunk Screws. Stile and length depends on Your setup here.

Hose Jointer uses 6x M3x10mm or taller Hex Socket screws (Other type like countersunk can be used as well but probably must be taller) and 6x M3 Nuts

Small remark
As Shutter is simple removable part, depending on printer of course it can feel too loose and be falling back into a slot. For this version I haven't done anything to prevent this. It's fine for me as I haven't this, but You can add a layer of sellotape or anything to have a stronger grip if needed or even print shutter by a little scaled up in Z axis. Or scaled down if it is too tight of course.
