Description

This is a more compact version of the Circular Habit Tracker I created. This is designed to be small so if fits on your desk to remind to keep on top of your daily good habits. The idea is that it's a physical, tactile reminder to keep up with any 5 habits every single day. You put a peg into a slot every time you do a daily good habit. It's great for keeping yourself accountable.

The 5 “word pegs” are customizable in Bambu Studio (see instructions below).

AMS is not technically needed since the only color change is for the letters and numbers and they are on the very top layer.

Instructions:

  1. Print the top lid peg board in any color (plate 1)
  2. Print the bottom of the box in any color (plate 2)
  3. On plate 3 there are 32 pegs which you need to print 5 times, in 5 different colors
  4. On plate  4 is the “word peg” . You'll need to edit the word in Bambu Studio to say whatever you want them to say. To edit the text, switch from “Global” to “Object” view in the left menu. Then find the object called “text_shape”, right click on it, and click “Edit Text”. You'll see a menu pop up in the upper right where you can change: what it says, font style, font size, etc.
  5. [OPTIONAL] The “word peg” is also available on plates 5 without any words so that you can write on them with a paint pen instead if you want.

I love this idea, and I am making an app for my phone with a similar use, but a tangibile object like yours is even better. I printed your cute model but I hope you don't mind if I give you some advice you didn't ask for. First of all, printed PLA (or PETG) are quite fragile, especially if the layers are horizontal like in the case of the activity tags, and their pins are very tiny and delicate. You may think of a rectangle shape that extrudes into a parallelepiped instead of two tiny separate pins. The wall where the lid slides is so thin, and it runs right along the layer so it's very fragile. The side hole allows the little colored pins to escape, and its border is squared, which creates a fragile corner where layers can easily break. A smaller hole with rounded edges would keep the pieces inside and make stronger parts. If this was in metal, it would be fantastic. But being in 3D printed plastic, you may want to consider a different approach to avoid fragile parts. I think I'll print it again with some modification. Thank you very much for sharing, I hope my suggestion is useful.

Thank you for all the feedback! I'm very new to creating 3D models and 3D printing so I appreciate it! Do you think you can post a little diagram of your advice "You may think of a rectangle shape that extrudes into a parallelepiped instead of two tiny separate pins"? That's the only part of your suggestions that I didn't understand.

I mean a stronger structure like an extruded rectangle in the place of the two pins: here is a sketch I made of how it could be designed. Your design is beautiful, so these are just some suggestions to avoid fragile parts.

Great little tracker, I'm a fan of habit trackers and this one is a 10/10 on looks! A bit tricky to use if you have saussage fingers like I do but nothing a scale job can't fix. I added a profile with an angled base for a better display of the tracker, as well as stronger pins for the word pegs as mine broke off while removing the supports.

Yours looks so amazing and I love the "habits" you picked! I also agree about the small size of the pegs. I kinda feel like I need to add some printable tweezers to the model. LOL

I used the Bambu Slate Gray Sparkle PLA (13102), best filament I've ever used by far, it looks amazing and prints like a dream.

Printed. it's really cute and thought out. I might reprint at double the size. (if doing this for kids around kids you will want it bigger.)

Does anyone had some extra chunk print in the corner that blocks the rails and prevents the top from closing all the way? It seems such enough that I could not remove it with tweezers. This is from V2, plate 2, on the P1S printed with Bambu Handy without changing any settings. I tried reprinting and got the same thing with two different PLA basic filaments. Any tips for working around this would be appreciated.

I accidentally had turned supports on for that tray part in my latest upload and it definitely doesn't need any supports. So I fixed that setting and re-uploaded. Thanks for letting me know. Sorry about this!

Definitely use the Stronger word pegs or V2 profile, V1 had strength issues. Would also recommend printing everything at 125% scale, it's a great model!

This is a really cool idea. Do you have any commercial licensing options?

Thanks so much! I'm thinking about commercial options and learning how all that works.
