Description

Designed for my own bedside lamp, this renter-friendly E14 wall lamp combines style, versatility, and ease of use. Whether you prefer a classic setup or a smart home experience, this lamp is perfect for creating the ideal lighting for your space. You can tape it to the wall for a no-drill setup or use the provided hole drillings for a more permanent installation.

Updates:

  • Two print profiles for the lampshade are available: one with a 0.42mm (default) wall thickness and one with a 0.6mm wall thickness, both in vase mode. The thicker walls help increase strength and could help with warping, but will also make the lamp dimmer.
    • The lampshade in the photo is printed with the thinner wall profile using Kexcelled PLA K5 Matte White.

Features:

  • Renter-Friendly Design: No permanent installation is needed—simply tape it to the wall for a quick and easy setup.
  • Optional Drill Mounting: Hole drillings are included if you prefer a more secure, permanent installation.
  • Adjustable Lighting and Smart-Optional: Use a regular E14 bulb for regular lighting, or pair it with the IKEA Tradfri smart LED bulb and Styrbar remote control for customizable brightness and color temperature.
  • Flexible Compatibility: Works seamlessly with IKEA Strala and other standard E14-compatible cords.
  • Modern & Minimalist: Sleek design inspired by practical use as my own bedside lamp.

This model also includes cable covers that are remixed from this design.

I have some "warping" issues with the shade. especially the back and the front is warped no matter if I printed it in petg or pla. no difference except from the light that passes through the shade. maybe someone has solved the same problem before? thanks 👍 great design so far 🙏

Hi, thanks for the support and sorry to hear on the warping. I have uploaded a new print profile that uses 0.6mm wall thickness (150% of 0.4mm nozzle) which adds 50% more material on the outerwalls. I tested with 2 wall loops and found that it will not fit with the existing lamp base. Hope this helps!

Hey man, thanks a lot. The warping is much less now. Its not completely gone, but its a good improvement. I also reduced print speed to about 100mm/s and reduced the auxiliary cooling fan to 15 %. Might be a bit better as well. Thanks its a great lamp!

I wonder if you could just add a extra wall or two to fix it?

might be possible, but I only have these 3mf/stl files. to get thicker walls I would need to have the origin file, because this shade is in vasemode.

I've added a new print profile with thicker walls which should be less prone to warping while still retaining vase mode. FYI, you can change the number wall loops using the 3mf. Disable vase mode and increase wall loops. Other than wall loops, you can also play around with wall thickness (generally 0.4mm nozzle can print up to 0.6mm wall thickness). However, adding more wall loops might make the interface with the lamp base tighter/not fit well and some further scaling is needed.
