Description

The Filament Storage Vault is an essential accessory for 3D printing enthusiasts. Designed to keep your filaments in optimal condition, this box protects them from moisture and dust, ensuring consistent print quality.

A dedicated slot in the middle holds a silica gel container, further enhancing moisture control.

With a three-catch locking system and a TPU seal, the Filament Dry Box remains completely airtight, preventing any external air from affecting your filaments.

The box requires six M3x30 hex bolts for assembly, ensuring a sturdy and secure setup. Additionally, the label can be easily customized in Bambu Studio, allowing you to personalize your filament storage solution and keep your workspace organized and efficient.

The robust design ensures longevity and reliability, making it a valuable addition to any 3D printing setup. Perfect for both beginners and experienced users, the Filament Dry Box offers a reliable solution for maintaining filament quality and improving print results.

The Filament Dry Box can be printed using a variety of materials, including PLA, PETG, and ABS, making it versatile and accessible. You can color-code the boxes for different filament types or projects, and use up almost finished rolls of filament if you don't mind a mix-and-match appearance.

The box features nice rounded corners for a sleek look. It's engineered to sit up square when stacked vertically, maximizing your storage space and keeping your workspace organized.

Can you add a slot for a Hygrometer?

On the top or side?

Now that I look more closely at the design it would have to go on the side as I'm sure you'd want these to be stackable. Near where it clamps closed would be ideal but based on the where the two sides meet and form a seam it may be tough to add. I like the compact design quite a bit but would like to see a window so you can see what's inside and a hygrometer. I think you could save more shelf space as well if they were stored vertically instead of lying flat. I'm new to 3D Printing so modifying / creating my own parts seems a tall hill to climb. Great work on what you've created here and am enjoying the community exchange of ideas a lot!

Do you have square or round ones? Square would be easier

I printed it out in PLA. Just waiting for a spool of TPU to do the seal!

Simple to print and is very sturdy. I will be making more. I may just edit it so that less screws are needed.

Great container. I did experiment with the scale a little. I got it to print at 98.6% size on a 220x220mm print bed. Still fits the filament reel. Silica container scaled also. Everything for together. Even able to use the same screws. I have printed 6 so far to keep my filament safe and dry.

Thanks for sharing your experience. What printer are you using that has a bed that size?

I am using a FlashForge Adventure 5M. I like the Core XY and the options seem rather limited for models at a decent price point

This really nice, but I have trouble with the idea of using 1/3rd of a roll of filament to use as a housing to store filament.

I'm sorry if I offended you. What would be the most filament you would be willing to use?

mate, it's no offense. trouble is the wrong word I guess. I meant more to say that to me it feels like a waste to use +/- 300g of filament to store the remaining+/-700g. as eventually you'll run out of that colour. so if it's a colour you use all the time, great!! as to your question, I don't know how much filament I'd want to use, but it feels wasteful to me...but if you are happy with it I am not judging. I think your work looks great

Just printed, came out great..... thanks for posting this so we can start out printing journey. One question, you list 3 bolts....... is it 3 or 6, Not able to really see how the latches are secured, and what it latches too.... Im assuming one bolt through the latch, and latch goes over a second bolt...

love the concept except having to remember what is in each box. Is there a place for a label? if not is that something you would consider adding?
