Description

I created a label holder that can be used for a dry box or storage container for your filament to identify the material/color. Affix to your storage or dry box, then you can cut the identification from the cardboard box that your filament came in and slide it into the label holder. It's a simple design, but I find it useful when I have multiple materials of the same color of filament. I'd appreciate any feedback.

The filament label holder prints well and serves its purpose However, due to the overhangs of the prongs, I have the problem that the filament partially collapses in the interior area Since I am new to 3D printing, I unfortunately have no idea whether the model can be optimized to eliminate this problem

Thank you for the feedback! I have printed several of these without issue. I am quite new to 3D printing as well (less than 2 months) so I am not sure what may be causing the filament to collapse, but here are some things to consider based on what I've learned so far: 1. Make sure your filament is dry. Filament that has absorbed too much moisture can melt inconsistently and cause "stringing," inconsistencies in surface finish and print collapse. 2. Verify that your print temperature is high enough for the filament you're using. 3. Ensure that your nozzle is clean and free of clogs (the above two reasons can contribute to issues here). 4. Slowing your print speed could help. Additionally, you could change the orientation of the part during your print, "standing" on the closed end; however, for this you may need to add a brim to make sure the part doesn't fall over during printing. I have not printed any this way, so I'm not sure it would work. Fits the labels great. Not sure yet if I want to put them on the shelf, or attach them directly to the plastic "cereal box" filament containers. Either way, they do what they say.

updated from 4 to 5, because I realized after the fact that the minor issues I experienced were due to a partially clogged nozzle towards the end of the print. great solution. stuck to the lid of my cereal dry boxes using a nano dot.

print fairly well and quite quickly. but notice quite a lot of stringing on the interior/underside of the lips. so when I slide the cardboard/label inside, it's constantly popping out bits of excess filament

Unfortunately, there are somewhat excessive overhangs, making flawless printing without supports impossible. It might be possible to support the model with small inclines beneath the overhanging elements
