Description

This is a 2x1 Gridfinity Tape Dispenser that only requires an 8x1 0.1" pitch pin header as a blade.

Glue the shaft parts into the roller and glue the pin head into the front part as a blade.

You can sharpen the pin head with a file a bit for better results - 0.05" pitch might work even better (untested).

This profile worked perfectly! I added a bit of a second color to show what kind of tape is in the dispenser as we have 3 different flavors.

This model works perfectly! I love the pin header for the cutter. I colored the top surface to show what kind of tape is in the dispenser.

it came out pretty good

Had to scale the shaft down by 0.4mm in all dimensions and it was a very tight fit - A1, PLA, 0.4mm nozzle. The original shaft design broke when I tried to hammer it into the roller ;)

Have you printed a tolerance evaluation sample before? Is the filament calibrated for flow and flow dynamics? I think I designed it with a 0.15 mm gap all around and on P1S it would fall out without using glue. So I think it might be an issue with flow on your side. You can also check if the wall printing order is set to outer/inner in the profile already. But again - was no problem at all for me.

I did. Square hole fit 0.1mm no problem, cylindrical got stuck on 0.1mm and had a fit (not tight but not loose either) on 0.2mm, hence I scaled the shaft by 0.4mm.

Did you use a textured or smooth sheet?

I can't figure out what youre using for the teeth to cut the tape. Are those cut up thumb tacks?

It's a 2.54 mm/0.1 inch pin header like the ones you get with electronic PCBs like arduino or esp32

Thanks for the reply. I'm a noob and I am far from adding electronics to my prints so that explains why I don't know what this is. Good idea for making it gridifinity though!

It's fairly simple to obtain as many makers have these. If you know anyone who's into electronics there's a high chance they have a leftover one they can give you, it's a few cents really.

printed fine in black but could use guides or markers where the pieces should be mated, it took more than a couple of tries to get it to fit together and open/close smoothly.

What do you mean by open and close? Fitting the roll into the main part and taking it out?

Works well but my tape was too large of a roll.
