Description

Why pay $25 bucks for an inferior product delivered by snail mail when you can print your one in less time, at a lower cost, and spend that money on extra filament? ADHD seldom derives benefits like this!

This DEWALT tool stealth mount has a low profile for a fast print time, and a latch with a satisfying “click” every time you replace and withdraw the tool.

Boost Me (for free)

Your Boost's encourages designers to share quality models. Please use them to support your favourite designed.

For easy - “click” in and secure latch, arrange the clip in the orientation shown below. (it works the other way too) If your 3DP DEWALT tool mount doesn't have a “clicky” latch like this, you’re missing out if you haven't printed this one!

For tools with the proprietary tab, you’ll need to print the baseplate to get the necessary tab clearance. (the baseplate is optional and unnecessary for most tools.)

Select the appropriate fasteners (I screwed into 1/2” plywood with equivalent fasteners suggested below.)

Suggested fasteners: #8 x 3/4-in Flat Head Wood Screw - or- Countersunk Flat Head Self-tapping/wood Screw M4 x 20 (You’ll need an extra 3mm longer screw with optional baseplate or just drill out 3mm from the countersink when using the baseplate and use the same 3/4” or 20mm screw to get a good screw bite.)

#6 screw will work well too.

Print Notes: For some printers and filaments, it may be necessary to add a brim to the thin wedge of the clip. (the profile ratings suggest it's the exception, not the rule.

Exactly what I was looking for. I printed in BBL PLA basic Black. We will see how it holds out. If I need to I have some PETG HF somewhere. I forgot to add that I printed on an A1. I had to move the prints around in order to not have a collision, but it still printed well.

Thanks for the comment, I think you posted a photo of the wrong print. Re the DEWALT 20V Tool Mount/holder, please let me know how the clip holds up in PLA.

Thanks for the additional photo, now I see how it clips, I never imagined it being used in that orientation, I'm glad it works, but won't make any guarantees that the clip is strong enough.

Nice, I like the colour combo, The sunflower yellow, looks just like the DeWalt yellow.

Thanks, yeah I bought it with that intent. I have printed several DeWalt accessories and it matches very closely.

Looking at the calibration, it looks like you're printing on an X1C. What material are you using? If I were to take a guess, it appeared the plate moved from the first to the second layer. I've never seen that happen on multiple prints before. Did the clips print a first layer? Maybe something jammed, if everything looks clear, possibly give it a second go. I'm at a bit of a loss for suggestions.

very useful, the clip was a bit of a pain but it is not a necessary piece for the mount to work. I did not use any of the locking clips when mounting

Sorry, the clips didn't work out, they're my favourite part, as you say, not necessary but great in a mobile workshop or an earthquake.

would certainly be necessary in a mobile job trailer, i assume the clips were an operator error issue on my end im not terribly knowledgeable with the 3d printing just yet. i will be printing these again

If you're going to try reprint then, a clean plate makes a difference, you could also try printing with a brim - see my model description for where to enable brim ears.

Finally my tools are organized. With this simple print I can now have my tools in one place and is simple to find. The click thingy is a must! Make one for larger tools please, like Dewalt 273 or such :)

I'm glad this print has been useful, I never imagined it would be used for large tools. I'll update as my tool collection grows.

@user_1765744671 I tweaked it a little in Fusion to fit my the hammer drill. I made it 70mm high which is little too much.. but works just fine :)

Printed in PLA Nice clean print no issues. Haven't hung it yet because my garage is a pigsty and not heated.

On that idea of a "pigsty" this project was an attempt at getting organized. I have a shelf and nicely organized tools, but I'm still working on cleaning up the "pen". good luck.

I have very limited space left in my garage and these Mount/Holders allowed me to get my DeWalt tools up and off my workbench freeing up valuable space. They are easily printed and designed very well. I'm actually in the process of printing another batch. Thanks to the designer for sharing their work.
