Description

Put your sander on the wall.
Wasn't happy about mine just lying around all the time and trying to find where I last put it down so here is a mount for it.

If you screw into a thud then the two middle screws are enough to withstand the weight of the machine (1,3kg), if not you have two extra holes to spread the weight.

Printed with 6 walls and 30% infill for strength.
No brim as I don't need to with my printer but if you need it then remember to change that option!

I like it, but my sander is also a snug fit, so tight it squeezes the base of the sander (US version as well). I think I'll try to scale it up and reprint, good design though, very practical and useful!

Thanks for the feedback! You should try the second print profile " 107% Scale ... " that should probably fix your issue :)

Oh my bad. I didn't fully read your comment I see... Feel free to upload your print profile if you wish when it's done.

I hadn't noticed the second print profile (still new to bambu labs, but not to 3D printing), I'll do just that, glad you told me, I was going to try +5% and that might not have been enough!

Nice design, unfortunately doesn't fit a 5" sanding disc paper. Way too small for American use. The opening measures 4 3/4" (120mm) so it doesn't fit American 5" sanding discs unfortunately. I'll upload a Profile for American 5" sanders/discs after It's printed & tested, thanks for sharing!

Why is everything bigger in the US?🤔 Great idea of you to upload a working profile. When you do so I’ll update the description so that freedom unit people prints the right one

Indeed, always got to purposely be different over here.... Ridiculous. Either way here's a photo of my 5" sanding disc, in metric they measure ~124mm Your design seems to be about 120mm so very slightly too little, I printed at 107% scale and it did the trick, about to post a scaled up profile!

This one fits my US version Dewalt sander perfectly. Thanks!

Did you print the original profile and it didn't fit as well?

I did and it didn't fit, either my DeWalt DWE6423 or my Milwaukee 2648, both are 5"

Fits a little loose for 5 inch Dewalt sander, sides could be a little longer so it doesn’t tip outwards. Printed very nicely in black Bambu PLA.

Agreed, mine is could be tighter, I printed again at 103.5 scale, much better fi. This time it's spot on

Working well. The sander is a little tight, but I guess that just means it won’t fall out. 🙂

thanks for your rating and comment😄 regarding it being tight: my earlier versions were a bit looser and I just didn’t feel comfortable having my sander dingling of the wall. I released this upload as it is what I’m using, if down the line it would show some negative impact to the machine itself I’ll update the file directly👍🏼

Support Issue:Nice design but not enough lateral support for my Dewalt orbital sander

Interesting, could you please upload a picture so I understand what you mean with "not enough lateral support"? This is the first time I hear of an issue and would like get to know the problem!

If the "wings" were a bit taller and wider, I think it would be fine and not deform the pad/hang so loosely. I'm not yet experienced enough to modify it but am holding on to it for my next sander.

Oh wow yeah that’s really loose! I honestly can’t see any other reason than your sander being different somehow (older/newer/other version) as no one else has this issue. Prior known issue is that it was too tight! Therefore the 103% print profile.

A little small for my 5" Dewalt sander. Had to increase size slightly. However, because the weight of the sander was being held up by the foam sanding pad, it deformed the pad and ultimately ripped it. Not sure if other people have had this issue, but I'm going with more of a shelf mount now because of this.

Sorry to hear that! Did you print with the 5” profile or my own? As of right now you are the first with a deformed pad I’ve heard of. I’ve actually not used my sander since I put it on the wall and I can’t see any negative impact due to the wall mount.
