Designer Profiles

Use Standard Gift Card - Full Snap Lid (no replaceable tray) if you don't plan on re-using the box.

Use Standard Gift Card - Replaceable Tray Snap Lid if you would like to reuse the box with different trays in the future.

Use Snap Lid Variations

  • Fat Prongs if you are having issues with the prongs breaking (this may happen on old/cheap filament, I recommend you dry it)
  • No Prongs if you don't want the gift card holder on the lid
  • 0.2 Tolerance if the tray is fitting to tight, you can use this for a better fit

Use Standard Gift Card - Magnetic Lid/Box if you would like the lid to come off a little easier

  • Requires 4 D3x1mm Round Magnets from Maker Supply
  • The magnets will need to be glued into the lid and box

Message me or comment here if you have any issues, I will do my best to resolve them!

Features include:

  • Ribbons are flush with the box
  • Ribbons wrap fully around the entire box
  • Snap on lid design (with a magnet option)
  • Card holder options for different tolerances
  • Slimmed box for reduce print time
  • Customizable gift card tray for future upgrades or different holding mechanisms

Assembly

No glue assembly required for snap profiles, just snap the ribbon and bow into place.

  • Slide gift card tray (if using that profile) into lid and assemble the shorter ribbons first
  • Followed by the longer ribbons.
  • Add gift card of choice!

Printing Instructions

  • .2mm layer height

Thanks for helping me prepare for the upcoming holiday! Gotta love it when 3D printing stuff is cheaper than going out and buying a paper greeting/holiday card for everyone... (The haircut card is just a sample test. In its place will be a $25 gift card.) Hint for everyone: Print the wide clip.

Standard Gift Card - Full Snap Lid (no replaceable tray)
The pincers to hold the gift card were fused together but only on one side. The rest of the model seemed great though. Ribbons laid in the tracks well. The lid fit was very tight (Almost too tight! The ribbons were flexing up out of the track, if the ribbon bow was pulled, as a child would do.) Admittedly, I used a fairly cheap white filament - might retry with the expensive stuff. -- 9/10 --

Thanks for the comments. Did you happen to print with a 0.6 nozzle?

Nope, a 0.4 nozzle. The fat prongs lid file fixed the issue.

Beautiful box and fits together nicely. Though I did adjust the width of the gift card tray from 9.06 to 8.75 so I could slide it in and it still had a snug fit. Seems other people had that issue also, and some did not. Perhaps include a couple different sizes for people? I'm also curious as to why the try is printed separate from the lid though. Would the slicer not handle the bridge okay? Printed with a 0.2mm nozzle (because I happened to have that loaded), with Forest Green and Gold Silk PLA.

Thanks for the boost! You aren't wrong, it can be printed as part of the lid (without it being a separate piece). It is intended so that the box can be reused for other things besides gift cards, but happy to release one as a single lid as well, good idea.

The piece that holds the gift card has snapped twice on me now. Any suggestions for how to strengthen that piece?

I am releasing a profile in the next half hour that will print the tray and lid together! Hold tight, I'll let you know when its out. Thanks for the feedback!

To be clear, the tray itself snapped, or the prongs that hold the card?

Thanks for the quick response. It was the prongs that hold the card that snapped on me. Looking forward to trying your new version. This is such a beautiful design!
