Description

Using the clock mechanism Bambu sent with my printer, I made a wood accented designer clock that uses magnets and “stainless” steel balls from Amazon to tell the time. I wood turned the face of the clock, but I attached a 3D printable version as well.
gif of it working can be found on my website.

Magnets
Stainless Steel Balls (actual stainless steel isn't very magnetic, so I looked at reviews to see which ones were impure)

i used a 3.5mm for the minute and 4.5mm for min but any ball between 3mm and 5mm should work. just the thing to be wary about is looking at the amazon comments and finding the ones that are not actually 100% stainless steel and more iron cuz iron is magnetic and stainless steel less so lol.

I don't think you can as the file only has the face part, the author might have forgotten to post the parts that link to the clock and house the magnets

ah! they are in the file just off the plate, but I'll modify the post now to have all parts in separate files

I've printed out the parts, but I'm finding that the hour and minute parts are loose on the clock kit. Do they have to be glued into place or the minute and hour hands from the clock kit itself hold them in place?

it should press fit if you have the clock mechanism that Bambu Lab recommends/sends out. I have found that different clock mechanisms from Amazon have different hole sizes. you should be able to hot glue it although not ideal. Ill see what I can do to bypass the different clock mechanism hole sizes. Any ideas?

if you use Onshape, i can prolly send u the CAD file for u to tweak the hole dimensions to fit ur mechanism.

Thanks, it's all good, I added a slightly smaller hole to the parts I'll give it a try and see if it holds in place
