Description

X1C - P1P - P1S TOOLBOX // Complete hotend edition

/ Print-in-place

This design is based on my earlier print-in-place box. This box is made to complete my print-in-place toolbox lineup. It has space for every component that comes with the printer and can accomodate smaller spare parts and hotend parts on a designated hotend tray.

THINGS TO KEEP IN MIND

  • When closing the latch, it reaches is designated ‘closed’ state by deforming. If you choose to print it from a more rigid material you might need to file it to reach perfect closing. If you print it from a more flexible material like PETG, your print should work without any filing. If you find closing difficult, file the surface shown below.

  • There are multiple overhangs where support used, but sometimes they are hard to spot. Pay attention to these places, because missing to remove support can cause headaches.
  • The small parts on the photo above you can see small latches for the container covers. You can insert them by slightly bending the container covers ( gently:D)

If you are printing the models on non-Bambulab printers please bare in mind the following:

  • Use support at the inner cavity of the small enclosures lock and at the logo seating
  • Prevent using any support on the hinges and on the hinge of the lock.
  • Increase infill at the hinge section and its close proximity.

In case you have any feedback, feel free to share.
Im curious to see what you make of the model. If you print one please post a photo of it as an inspiration for others.

This printed great. I had a happy accident - ran out of white filament midway through. Swapped for black and ended up with a nice two-toned look. Screws for hot end were a bit tight as others have said, but once I got the thread going, it was easy to tighten down for lid clearance. Locking lids were tricky to assemble, but if you insert one side into the rails and flex the lid very gently you’ll be able to snap the other side in. In the end, this turned out great. Thanks!

I love it. Came out super nice and clean. But I don't know how I get the small "buttons" inside, that's why I didn't use them. So it's a bit harder to open the hinges

Sharing my experience. Hope it’s helpful. I had a hard time with these too. I ended up placing one side of the slide into the track on the underside of the lid, then slightly (and very gently) flexing the lid to open up the track just enough to pop the other side in. was easier to do the second one once I figured that out. Good luck!

Nice and smart design, well optimised. I printed it with Wanhao PLA silk Copper and PLA Light green. I've had warping issues on the latch part, but it's still functional. I cleaned the PEI plate, tried with some BL glue, calibrated extrusion, but it wouldn't stick as well as the rest of the parts 🤔 (Copper was from a brand new roll). The holes for hotend screws are too small (drilling them will solve it) although the ones for the cleaning rolls fit perfectly. Cutting blades won't stay in place until I'll put some silicone socks into the box. Very satisfied with the print, thank you 😊

Great print. Latch and hinges works without issues. The only bit of problem i had was that the smaller allen key was too loose so i glued two flat magnets underneath and its all good now. Thanks for the model.

great print in place for both hotels and complete hot ends, added magnets to the top compartments to stop small screws falling through the holes
