Description

With the Christmas season right around the corner, I thought that an upgrade for my DAC would work wonders - so I went for the Fiio K11, as it has a good price, and good overall reviews.

The problem was that my former DAC, Fiio E10K, has a little stand that lifted it from the desk, and made it more accessible - the K11 didn't, and there was nothing to be found on the internet.

Que about 1 hour in Fusion360, and this is what I came up with.

The stand itself is pretty simple. It lifts the DAC about 11cm off the desk, and it makes it not only more accessible, but it also lowers the footprint, and gives me the option to put other things below it, as you can see in the screenshots - I added my Macro Deck device, and there's still space for other devices.

As a note, the DAC is not fully enclosed, I wanted to be able to take it out anytime, in case it is needed, and due to temperature constraints, I wanted to make sure the top gets enough air.

The back of the stand is half closed off, so when I push the button, it won't slide back.

The way I secured it was with 2 pieces of double sided tape, and it works like magic.

printed great with 3d fuel pctg, confirmed fit with k11 r2r (shell should be the same so it was to be expected) side note, I've added silicon tape to the bottom so it stops from moving around when pushing buttons, works great. bit too tall for my desk but great for putting stuff underneath tho

I have mine locked in place with some silicone tape as well. I made it this tall to have space for things underneath, and to clear up some clutter from my desk (I added some cable ties to my monitor, and I am running my headphone cable through it).

To be honest, the heat is not that big of a deal. I left the topside open to make sure it gets some cool air, and the heat will rise. I have it on my desk for 2 weeks, and there's absolutely 0 issues with it. The only things is that when you press the knob, to change settings or input, it flexes about half a centimeter (I have it fixed on my desk with some double sided tape), but again, that's not that big of a problem considering you don't have to push too hard.
