Description

I wanted to free up some desk space so I decided to hang my AMS lite on an Ikea Skadis board. So far it works perfectly.

Files:
There are multiple files, since there are two ways to mount the AMS Lite - with the cable facing upwards or downwards. Choose the orientation that suits you best. You can also print the mount and the pegs separately.

Printing:
The model can be printed on the Bambu Lab A1 mini.

Print the mount with 25%+ infill density and tree supports. For the hooks use 100% infill density. I used Bambu Lab PLA Tough for everything, but I would recommend using PETG for everything.
You only need tree supports for the larger overhangs, not for the screw holes or peg holes.

Assembly:
The 4 pegs can simply be fitted into the holes and then the whole thing hangs securely on your Skadis board.

Stability:
I have used this mount with 4 spools on the AMS Lite and have had no stability issues, but please test it for yourself.

Enjoy :)

Printed very well on Sunlu PLA+. Feels extremely sturdy.

Hi, does Sunlu's PLA+ still hold your AMS well full with all 4 rolls? Because I have Sunlu PLA+ and I'm undecided whether to print it with this or in PETG to be sure of the resistance. But I should buy PETG just for this reason...

Yeah, until now I never felt like anything came loose or is unstable. The PLA+ works great in my opinion :)

absolutely love this model, just wanted to post a summer warning though. I had the clip pieces printed in standard matte PLA as it was all I had back in the day. today it reached 30°C in my office and the temp stressed the clips enough to drop my AMS to the floor. make sure to print with a more thermally stable material if you haven’t already! redid the clips in PLA-CF for heat resistance, but I may switch two to PETG once I have more.

My room is almost always above 32 degrees. I also printed with pla and the ams is hanging above my printer. I'm stressed like crazy because I'm not at home. 🥲

hi, which box do you have on the left?

i have a very hard time believing that those clips would deform at 30c. that is not that warm. thats only 86F. if pla deforms at that temp it would not be usable.

What is the difference between "cable up" and "cable down". A long time ago I printed "cable down" because my cable was too short. In the meantime I ordered an extension cable and now print "cable up". Both prints are identical. Then I opened both profiles in Bambu Studio. If I turn one by 180° they are identical. I am confused.

There is a subtle difference in orientation. The AMS lite only fits on the mount one way (as you can easily try), so do the pegs. So if choose the "up" option then the cable will come out the top side when you mount it.

Same question: I printed "cable down" and now want to change orientation; do I have to print the whole "cable up" model again? there's no way to reuse anything?

Printed perfectly fine with PETG. Seems pretty sturdy. The pegs going into the bottom were a super tight fit and hard to get in but I guess that's a good thing :D
